But here is a SFW sneak peek from story #1:

Daisy burst through the door of Pauline’s kitchen in a whirlwind. Her arms were full of clothes and a wig, which she unceremoniously dumped on Pauline’s table with a whine. Pauline, nose in a coffee mug, looked up at Daisy in the same way a tired mother looked up when her kids interrupt her daily me-time watching the television soaps.

Pauline, an older woman in her 40’s, was a motherly figure to Daisy, if not a loyal confidant. Dressed in a buttoned up blue blouse with a winged collar, she wore her long brown hair up in a bun. Dainty earrings hung from her ears and her growing smile at Daisy’s antics was painted red in lipstick.

“Daisy, did you remember to take your shoes off at the door?” Pauline teased. Everyone knew she had an open-door policy, but Daisy standing over her huffing and puffing as a tan coat, brown wig, hat, and sunglasses spilled over her tabletop initiated an urge to poke some fun at the poor girl.

Daisy winced and kicked off her boots. She pushed her items farther onto the table, nearly knocking over a bowl of apples sitting idyllically on the lace table runner and slumped into a chair.

“Pauline, it’s awful! That foul-man. That monster!” Daisy fumed.

Pauline put down her mug and reached out to grasp Daisy’s hands. The young girl’s face was a picture of desperation. Her pink-lip gloss lips quivered, and her doe-like eyes were wide with emotion. Her heart-stopping blonde hair tucked and twirled around to frame her face and draped down her shoulders. Wearing a little denim tank-top and white cut-offs, she could stop any man in his tracks, but Pauline knew there was much more to Daisy Duke than that.

“I’m sorry sweetheart. What happened? Is everyone okay?” Pauline asked. Daisy nodded, picking at the lace on the table as she tried to put together an explanation. She started slow, as if testing out the words before her whole story came out in a rush.

“You see—Uncle Jesse, the boys, and I were at the farm when Boss came in and found evidence of our moonshine operation. I thought I had everything hidden away but they found something in the barn and used that as an excuse to confiscate the entire farm and property from Jesse!”

“You’re kidding?!”

Daisy surged forward, her eyes getting bright with a foxy determination. The girl was full of mischief. “That’s why I went down to the police station today to see Enos and ask what’s going on.” Daisy motioned to her clothes on the table. She had gone over in a disguise since Boss Hogg swore to arrest her and her family if he ever saw any of them in Hazzard ever again. Of course, a little warning was not going to stop her from helping her family. Daisy winced as Pauline looked at her in concern. She didn’t want to worry Pauline, but it was really important to her!

“Did Boss see you?”

“No, I wore this—” Daisy picked up her wide-brim hat and dark sunglasses. The frames were big enough to cover her entire face from forehead to cheeks. “I wore a disguise and a wig to sneak in and talk to Enos. I said, ‘Enos, what’s Boss doing takin’ all that land?’ but before he could answer, we were interrupted, and I had to duck outside.”

“What do you mean all that land? You didn’t figure anything out?”

“Nothing yet. But Bo and Luke found out that Hogg is confiscating property and buying up plots of land all over Hazard. I need to figure out what he is up to, but I can’t think of a thing.

“I even asked Billy Prickett what was going on because the sponsorships on his car are all from Boss, now. He even covered up the Coca-Cola logo!”

Pauline shook head. “And he says he’s a Georgia-boy.”

Daisy puffed out her lips. “For real,” she muttered. Daisy sank toward the table and put her head on her hands. “They must be paying him something sweet. I just know something bad is going on.”

Pauline traced her fingers over her glass. She got up and prepared a cup of coffee for Daisy. As she tinkered with the sugar, Daisy looked up at the dark wood cabinets housing Pauline’s holiday plates and china. Pauline hummed to herself and brought the cup over to Daisy who accepted it gratefully.

“What do you think is gonna happen?” Daisy asked. The fire that had burned in her chest earlier when she thought she had a gameplan and a chance to help had all nearly smoldered, leaving a sickly smoky feeling in her throat.

"I think,” Pauline began, “you should try to talk to Enos again. Mean old Boss usually leaves him in the police station all day where he can’t get in the way, doesn’t he? Try again and maybe this time… turn on some of your charm. You know that soft soul will listen to anything you say.”

Daisy took a sip and grimaced. “Aw, Pauline. I can’t do that to poor Enos. He’s so innocent—we are just friends!”

“And are you more than friends with all the men you have seduced or tricked in the past?”
